Our services have been called upon to set up a Youth Development
Programme that focuses on students aged between 14 and 16 years old.
The programme raises the young people’s levels of motivation
and instills a sense of achievement through the development of a
magazine. This project fits in with the enterprise learning initiative
as part of the key stage four work related learning.
The twelve week pilot programme targeted 30 young people aged between
14-16 across three secondary schools in the Greenwich Borough, Blackheath
Bluecoat secondary school, Kidbrooke and Eltham Green Girls School
and was funded by NOF(New Opportunities Fund), Aim Higher and Extended
Schools.
We will be developing this project further to include other schools
within the borough with the aim of setting up a publishing centre
where the youth can share their views, concerns and issues to the
wider community.
